|Several more Blues Traveler dates have surfaced over the past week and are
beginning to flesh out what is expected to be at least a six-week spring
tour starting in early March. Tickets are now on sale for the earliest
date yet, a March 6th show at the Ventura Theatre in Ventura, CA, and
tickets go on sale later this week for a show two days later at the House
of Blues in Hollywood. This would seem to place the band's traditional
Tahoe shows - first mentioned several weeks ago on the official site - in
that same general time frame. From there, the band is expected to swing
across the country and head east, wrapping up in mid-April and finally
making it up to the northeast after last year's abbreviated fall tour.
However, this tour will not mark the band's first gig of the year - that
honor goes to a private black-tie pre-Super Bowl bash last weekend, held
for NFL sponsors and contributors at an undisclosed location in Houston.
More dates are expected to be added by mid-week next week and we will post
them on the tour page as they become
In other project news, the days are dwindling until the John Popper
project makes its first appearance in New York City. As of this past week,
tickets were still available for the Suite 16 show and could only be
picked up in person or via faxed credit card confirmation. Call the Suite
16 box office between 11 and 5 EST at (212) 627-1680 for more information.
Some reports say they're only pre-selling half of the tickets (350
capacity) and selling the rest at the door. On the technical side of
things, many old friends are going to be helping out - Dave Swanson (who
produced Save His Soul and co-produced Live From The Fall)
will be doing the live sound for these shows. The Trenton show is going to
be recorded and archived thanks to the Slow Change Archive crew, and
AllAccessDigital.com will be streaming it live via a site to be
determined. More details are forthcoming.
Finally, in related news, John will be repaying the favor to DJ Logic by
sitting in with Project Logic at New York's legendary Blue Note, as
confirmed on DJ Logic's web site. The sit-in is expected to be for the
full set, and will take place at the late-night gig on Valentine's Day -
actually, very early on the morning of the 15th. Tickets are $15 and can
be reserved through the Blue
Note's web site.
